K Bar K Farm
K Bar K started on a 17 acres farmette in Centre County, Pennsylvania, in 1996. In 2002 we purchased a 96 acre farm located in Huntingdon county, Pennsylvania, approximately 20 miles south of State College. This farm has about 10 acres of woods and 86 acres is rolling hills/fields/pastures. It was a dairy farm in its former life but is much better suited as a grazing farm due to soil types and terrain. The property contains an old brick house built in the mid 1800's, a pole barn that was a former dairy barn that will be converted to a sheep barn, and an utility barn. Click on the appropriate link below to see pictures of the farm. We have been expanding the size of the sheep flock in order to sell more breeding stock as well as begin direct marketing lamb to local niche markets. Other future plans include producing a composite whiteface breed by crossing the Dorset sheep onto another breed, perhaps adding some beef cows, along with a lifetime of repairs and improvements to the farm. |
